How my weekend was:

I possibly just had the best weekend in a long time. It all started on Friday night with Simple Plan, We the Kings and the Never Ever at the Hordern Pavilion which was incredible. This was my fourth time since February last year and my first time seeing Simple Plan and the Never Ever. Seeing Simple Plan was amazing and it was nothing less than what I expected and it was made even better by the fact that I got to go to their sound check party and meet them before the show is something that I will never forget

During the meet and greet I told Chuck that it was my first time seeing them and he sounded surprised and said that he hoped it was going to be amazing for me and that I had fun during the show. Out of all my photos with the guys my favourite would have to be my photo with Sébastien. While I was inside meeting Simple Plan my best friend was waiting outside the venue, waiting to meet Travis and Danny who were doing an interview so she could give them a letter that I had written for them about how they helped me through a difficult situation, when she gave Danny my letter he told her to tell me that he loved me for which I almost cried when she told me when I rang her after I had finished meeting Simple Plan

Getting inside I was on barrier on the side of the stage which was close enough from me to see, take photos and get some videos but far enough away from the major crush of the middle of the crowd. I was quite happy with where I was standing. First was the Never Ever and before the concert I had mixed emotions about the band and after seeing them live I still do but I kind of like them. It seemed their set went way too fast because soon enough they were finishing their last song and walking off stage so We the Kings’ crew could set up for their set which I was most excited for.

And when they took to the stage and I saw Charles Trippy walk on stage my first thought was ‘Oh my god he’s real’ before I lost my shit because one of my favourite bands and my favourite YouTube personality were on stage before me. It was amazing as usual they never cease to amaze me every time I see them perform live. I wish they would do a headlining tour in Australia soon so they could have a longer set so I could party a bit more. The pit where I was standing got a little bit crazier when We the Kings were playing but it didn’t effect me too much I was too engrossed in what was happening on stage, I got a few videos of them performing as well as some photos. I wish they played Over You or Every Single Dollar but there is always next time

Soon enough it was time for Simple Plan to take to the stage opening with Shut Up their set to me was perfect. I was so happy to just see them live it had been too long I should have seen them live sooner because I was missing out on how good they are live, I am going to be so excited when they come back to Australia. Early in their set my camera died so I kind of had to put my camera in my pocket and take my phone out so I could keep taking photos and videos. A big highlight was their medley of Moves Like Jagger, Dynamite and Sexy and I Know It, it happen to be the hottest thing I have ever seen especially when Pierre was thrusting in front of me. My favourite song they performed during their set was Summer Paradise because it is now winter in Australia and the song makes me want to relax on the beach especially after the wet summer we had. Overall the night was amazing and I can’t wait until I get to see them again, hopefully I will be with my best friend Jacquie so we can party together

After the concert I finally met up with Jacquie who was standing in a bush waiting to meet some of the guys from Simple Plan. My friend Shelby rang me while I was waiting to get merch asking me where I was because Travis from We the Kings was outside signing as Jacquie knew how much it would make me happy if I could meet Travis. As I was walking to find Jacquie I saw Travis signing from inside the fence that was around the back of the venue and I knew that I have to meet him. Standing with my best friend for a little while and after I met Sébastien I asked her if she could see if Travis was still out signing and she told me that she couldn’t see so I walked down to the other end of the fence running into my cousins in the process. It took me a couple of minutes but I finally met Travis and told him that the letter that Danny had received was from me and he told me that was good because when he read my letter he could my face to my name and he smiled at me (god I love his smile) as he signed my ticket

That night we didn’t get home until one in the morning because we stopped for McDonald’s on the way back

Saturday was pretty much spent relaxing, recovering from the soreness that both me and Jacquie were suffering from before we headed to Shelby’s from some catching up because we hadn’t seen each other in a while; for which we didn’t end up leaving there until the early hours in the morning. Our time at Shelby’s was spent talking about the previous night and many other things and singing along to Sleep With Me by We the Kings. Sunday was spent much like Saturday had been like. Just sleeping and talking to Jacquie and Shelby about Friday night

I am looking forward to hanging out with Shelby and Jacquie again on Friday night and I can’t wait until Simple Plan and We the Kings tour again so I can hopefully meet the rest of We the Kings and have some more incredible memories that I can share with you all =)

do you ever go into a music store and just find all of your favourite band’s albums even though you already have them and you just hover in that general area for a while
